The problems encountered by the Valrhona factory in Tain l’Hermitage
Valrhona’s staff raised several issues that were impacting their industrial performance, such as a lack of performance monitoring and data capitalization, as well as time wasted preparing routines. Their aim was therefore to:
- Improve performance monitoring by making indicators more reliable
- Capitalize on data from feedback on the ground
- Improve escalation of performance gaps and accelerate operational problem resolution through a digital tool
- Improve communication between teams by centralizing important information

Implementation of fabriq at Valrhona’s Tain L’Hermitage factory
fabriq was initially deployed on a single production unit, on two levels (point 10′ and point 20′ ). The staff at points 10′ and 20′ were given a one-day training course, after which they were able to get to grips with the solution quickly. Encouraged by the very positive feedback on performance management, Valrhona decided to extend the pilot to all 18 other shop floors.
- fabriq rollout on a pilot production shop floor, on two hierarchy levels (point 10′ and point 20′), then extension to 18 shop floors
- 1-day training for personnel on points 10′ and 20′
- Centralization, structuring and escalation of incoming information
- Creation of dashboards and performance indicators for improved gap monitoring
- Development of the Routine feature to monitor safety, quality and deadlines.
How Valrhona factory staff rapidly adopted the tool, and the benefits it provides
The Valrhona staff are satisfied overall with the introduction of the fabriq solution into their day-to-day work, and quickly found the tool very comprehensive and efficient. Today, it is an indispensable tool that they use every day, providing them with many benefits

- On average, 150 continuous improvement actions completed per week (up to 10 per team)
- Fast action resolution: the resolution time per action is between 10 and 20 days
- Smoother communication between shop floors
- Time saved in the preparation of daily update meetings and routines.

“fabriq supported us in moving our processes forward. The tickets themselves have evolved since the beginning and we now have the option of adding processes within a ticket to make tickets more specific (5 whys, 5M, etc.). In terms of our problem-solving, that’s really helpful.”
“fabriq allows us to link certain indicators (…), centralize our action plan in one place, and it also contains all our data history. We’ve saved time, we’ve improved communication, and we’ve gained in responsiveness by dealing with problems at the source. Today, it is an indispensable tool for our daily activities.”
